get candy!

a few weeks ago i noticed a candy bowl in my friend lora jean's office. it was full of yummy starbursts - one of my favorite candies. this brought about a crucial question for me: what is the best kind of community candy to put in a bowl? i think it might be starbursts. first, they draw immediate attention because of their bold colors. second, they are individually wrapped. this helps prevent the spread of germs by allowing people to root through the bowl (if red ones - the best - are not easily accessible) and not poison another person's candy. finally, they are amazing.

so here's a new poll - just in time for all hallows eve. please choose the best community candy. remember, this is the best candy to put in a hypothetical bowl in your alleged office and have random freeloaders steal from. it'd be great if you'd leave a comment explaining the motives for your answer or your choice if you select "other."

um, i'm gonna go with candy-covered peanut butter filled chocolates (read: reese's pieces & peanut butter m&m's). i mean, it always worked for miss wiggins... and, strangely enough, you. and i ain't scared of no germs.

Yeah, I was all set to agree with The Starburst Hypothesis, but then I read the comment about the Reese's Cups, and so that wins the day. The fact that they figured out how to put peanut butter INSIDE chocolate should be recognized as one of the most significant innovations of our time.

For best results, mix fruity candy like Starbursts with chocalty candy such as Hershey's Kisses. That way, you have something for everyone.

i went with m&ms. basically for the reason steven gave- it worked for mrs wiggins. its the only memorable candy dish in my life, for what thats worth...granted i dont really care about any candy.

other than candy corn. so i change my vote to a write-in for candy corn. its awesome, and if you disagree youre both stupid and wrong.

if you mix chocolate candy and fruity candy, it all tastes gross in my opinion. how about a compromise- one bowl of starbursts and one bowl of reese's... side by side... to please everyone.
